Promoting Student Activism & Democracy in Schools

During this webinar, we will discuss School Students‘ Civic Involvement – both in school and in society, as well as the ways in which teachers and pre-service teachers can help their pupils know their rights and stand up for them. Learn about the important range of consultation mechanisms for both classrooms and school-wide levels, in order to further the participation of pupils and students in vital democratic processes.

Mr. Rareș Voicu, Organizing Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU) Board Member, has been an activist for school students‘ rights for over five years, having worked at local, regional, national and international levels. He is passionate about enabling and empowering young people to understand the importance of speaking up and defending their rights. He currently is part of the European Commission Sub-group on Pathways to School Success while he completes the Global Law Bachelor Degree at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He speaks regularly to teacher and student groups across Europe.
